Ricardo LLINARES
Ricardo LLINARES
Ricardo Llinares (Seville, 1969) is a painter, trained at the Santa Isabel de Hungría Faculty of Fine Arts. His work falls within the realm of abstract expressionism, with a clear influence from the New York School of the 1950s. For him, abstraction is structure: a composition where color resides and communicates. He begins his pieces with a gestural, instinctive mark, upon which he builds balance through small gestures that gradually shape the work.
Llinares works with several supports simultaneously, allowing the pieces to rest before continuing. He conceives of color as a sensory language that connects with the viewer's memory and subconscious, evoking sensations and memories. In his work, the distribution of color is key: it generates tension, harmony, or imbalance, depending on the placement of the chromatic weights. Thus, color becomes an emotional vehicle, capable of moving the viewer without the need for figures or narrative, making each work a meeting place between the artist and the viewer.
He is one of the most promising new talents in the Red House Art portfolio, and we are very proud to support him in this burgeoning career. So much so that, after several smaller collaborations, in 2025 Red House Art and Llinares worked closely together on a major project, a turning point in his painting career: the art consultancy for the 5-star luxury Kimpton Los Monteros hotel in Marbella. For this project, the Seville-born artist created 22 large-format original works that accompany guests on their journey through the Kimpton luxury experience, or as we like to say: luxury in full color.
