Red House Art presents Mistakes (Strategy of Error), Ricardo Llinares' first solo exhibition on the Costa del Sol and the show that inaugurates the temporary exhibition programme at the Kimpton Los Monteros 5*GL Hotel following its reopening under the Kimpton chain (IHG).

Curated by Red House Art, the exhibition brings together 21 works created in 2025, paintings on paper and canvas in different formats that reflect on error not as a failure, but as a driver of learning, transformation and beauty. In this series, Llinares questions the classic idea of perfection and proposes a style of painting where doubt, corrected gestures and the unexpected form an essential part of the visual language.

The works reveal a delicate balance between control and abandonment. Overlapping layers, stains and chromatic tensions remain visible as traces of the creative process, vindicating vulnerability and imperfection as forms of truth in the face of a visual culture dominated by polished finishes and false perfection.

Mistakes represents an evolution from the La Piel series, which is part of the hotel's permanent collection, and is part of a curatorial project designed to dialogue with that collection, which comprises nearly 800 works by contemporary Andalusian artists. The exhibition thus reinforces Kimpton Los Monteros' commitment to contemporary art as a structural element of its identity and experience.

The exhibition will be open until June 2026, when it will be replaced by an exhibition by Santiago Picatoste in the same room, and the works will be available for purchase.
